A fork is a single move that attacks two or more pieces. Knights are the best forkers because their jumps can't be blocked.
Spotting forks
- Look for enemy pieces that sit a knight's move apart from the same square.
- Check if that square is safe for your knight.
- The most powerful forks include a check, because your opponent must deal with the king first.
